The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Trotamundos as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group A. Trotamundos defeated 3rd placed Guaiqueries in Valencia 90-73. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-73. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard David Cubillan (181-87, college: Marquette) who scored 18 points and 8 assists. International guard Jhornan Zamora (196-89) chipped in 19 points. Five Trotamundos players scored in double figures. The former international swingman Francisco Centeno (201-85) produced 14 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized Italian guard Dennis D'Adezzio (191-81) added 18 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Trotamundos have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Marinos. Guaiqueries lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third place with six games lost. Guaiqueries will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Trotamundos will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Marinos in Puerto La Cruz.
