Telekom Bsk. shot down visiting EWE Baskets to earn the first victory in the series. The game was mostly controlled by Telekom Baskets. EWE Baskets was better in third quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Jamel McLean (203-88, college: Xavier) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and Lithuanian guard Benas Veikalas (192-83, college: Metro St.) supported him with 14 points. Even 10 points and 9 rebounds by American guard Rickey Paulding (196-82, college: Missouri) did not help to save the game for EWE Baskets. His fellow American import power forward Adam Chubb (207-81, college: Pennsylvania) added 10 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
