Finals Game 2: Benfica - Vitoria SC 90-74

Date: May 18, 2014
Benfica grabbed two wins in as many games of the championship series. They fired past Vitoria SC to step closer to the title today. The game was mostly controlled by Benfica. Vitoria SC managed to win second period 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Benfica outrebounded Vitoria SC 38-25 including a 27-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Benfica made 7 blocks. American guard Jobey Thomas (194-80, college: Charlotte) scored 23 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international forward Carlos Andrade (197-78, college: Queens, NC) chipped in 7 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. Four Benfica players scored in double figures. Benfica's coach Carlos Lisboa used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international point guard Pedro Pinto (188-88) responded with 17 points and 8 assists and the former international swingman Jose Silva (194-89) scored 20 points.
