Quarter-Finals Round 3: Ankara DSI Era - Istanbul B.B. 57-58

Istanbul B.B. snatched a narrow road win over Ankara DSI Era and advanced into the semifinal stage. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 17-11. But Ankara DSI Era won second period 19-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 25 personal fouls committed by Ankara DSI Era helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American forward Eric Buckner (208-90, college: Georgia St., agency: David Lee services) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Mehmet Ozdogan (198-87) helped adding 19 points. The best for the losing side was Latvian center Kaspars Kambala (206-78, college: UNLV, agency: Ali Guney BA) with 18 points and swingman Hakan Erol (200-83, agency: Ali Guney BA) scored 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
