Quarter-Finals Round 5: EWE Baskets - Telekom Bsk 84-72

EWE Baskets rallied past Telekom Baskets to seal their BBL semifinal appearance. The game was mostly controlled by EWE Baskets. Telekom Baskets managed to win fourth quarter 27-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. EWE Baskets dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Telekom Baskets' 28 and made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was point guard Julius Jenkins (187-81, college: Georgia South) who scored 16 points and 5 assists. point guard Dru Joyce (183-85, college: Akron, agency: LUMANI 10.7) chipped in 11 points and 6 assists. Five EWE Baskets players scored in double figures. Tony Gaffney (205-84, college: Massachusetts) produced 19 points and 5 rebounds and forward Jamel McLean (203-88, college: Xavier) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
