Regular Season Round 33: Navolato - Nogales 93-99

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Garra Canera de Navolato (8-21) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (14-17) 99-93. It looked good early as Garra Canera de Navolato took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Fuerza Guinda Nogales had a 35-19 second period charge getting the lead and Garra Canera de Navolato was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 93-99. The game was also dominated by American players. It was a good game for swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 4 assists. Forward Jeremis Smith (203-86, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with 24 points for the winners. Forward Ronald Selleaze (197-76, college: CSU Bakersfield) answered with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Andre Martin (193-87) added 31 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) in the effort for Garra Canera de Navolato. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fuerza Guinda Nogales have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 14-17 record. Garra Canera de Navolato lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 21 games lost. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Garra Canera de Navolato will play again at home against Fuerza Guinda Nogales (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
