An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Tijuana. Third ranked Frayles de Guasave faced their biggest opponent Tijuana Zonkeys. Guests from Guasave (19-11) defeated host Tijuana Zonkeys (21-9) 90-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tijuana Zonkeys. Frayles de Guasave dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Tijuana Zonkeys' 28. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward John Millsap (198-82, college: UTSA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds. The former international forward Alonso Izaguirre (200-76) contributed with 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Millsap is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international power forward Arim Solares (202-83) added 23 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Tijuana Zonkeys. Five Frayles de Guasave and four Tijuana Zonkeys players scored in double figures. Frayles de Guasave maintains third position with 19-11 record having four points less than leader Hermosillo. Tijuana Zonkeys at the other side keep the second place with nine games lost. Frayles de Guasave will play against Caballeros de Culiacan (#5) on the road in the next round. Tijuana Zonkeys will play against Pioneros Los Mochis and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
