An interesting game for Tijuana Zonkeys (22-9) which hosted in Tijuana 4th placed Pioneros Los Mochis (17-14). Second ranked Tijuana Zonkeys managed to get a 10-point victory 102-92. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Pioneros Los Mochis. The game was mostly controlled by Tijuana Zonkeys. Pioneros Los Mochis managed to win third quarter 32-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lathan is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Tijuana Zonkeys' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American CamRon Clay (203-82) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import guard Luther Head (191-82, college: Illinois) added 25 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Pioneros Los Mochis in the defeat. Five Tijuana Zonkeys and four Pioneros Los Mochis players scored in double figures. Tijuana Zonkeys maintains second place with 22-9 record having just two points less than leader Hermosillo. Loser Pioneros Los Mochis keep the fourth position with 14 games lost. Tijuana Zonkeys will again meet at home Pioneros Los Mochis (#4) in the next round.
