The game between closely ranked teams ended with 11th ranked Heilongjiang's (1-11) home loss to tenth ranked Nanjin Army (4-8) 89-96 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 96-89. The winners were led by point guard Jun Li (180-90) who scored that evening 18 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and center JiaFu Tian (208-91) supported him with 21 points. Five Nanjin Army players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 33 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds by American forward Shawn Taggart (207-85, college: Memphis) did not help to save the game for Heilongjiang. Center Gang Yu (208-92) added 17 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Nanjin Army moved-up to ninth place. Heilongjiang lost tenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Nanjin Army will meet at home Jiang Xi (#10) in the next round. Heilongjiang will play against Shaanxi W. in Xian and hope to win that game.
