Regular Season Round 14: Guangxi R. - Henan 98-102

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when sixth ranked Henan (6-8) defeated on the road 5th ranked Guangxi R. (8-6) 102-98 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 102-98. Strangely Guangxi R. outrebounded Henan 52-34 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Tiny Gallon (206-91, college: Oklahoma, agency: Three Eye Sports) had a double-double by scoring 55 points (!!!), 18 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and guard YuXing Yang (195-95) chipped in 18 points during the contest. The former international point guard Jie Sun (190-86) responded with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Senegalese center Hamady N'Diaye (212-87, college: Rutgers) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Five Guangxi R. players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Henan maintains sixth position with 6-8 record. Loser Guangxi R. keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Henan will meet Changsha Bank (#7) in the next round. Guangxi R. will play against Heilongjiang and hope to secure a win.
