Regular Season Round 2: Welcome - O Mundial 81-82

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Atletico Welcome (1-1) in Montevideo. Hosts were edged by O Mundial (2-0) 82-81. It looked good early as Atletico Welcome took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then O Mundial took control getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and eventually winning the game that evening by 1 point. O Mundial dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Atletico Welcome's 32. O Mundial forced 19 Atletico Welcome turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. American forward Jimmy Boston (201-77, college: N.C.Central) notched 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocks to lead the effort and forward Andres Jones (195-75) supported him with 17 points and 6 rebounds.
