Regular Season Round 16: Chongqing FD - Nanjin Army 107-94

NBL top team - Chongqing FD (13-3) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eighth ranked Nanjin Army (5-11) in Guangzhou 107-94. The game was mostly controlled by Chongqing FD. Nanjin Army was better in fourth quarter 32-30. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Chongqing FD dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to Nanjin Army's 62. Chongqing FD forced 23 Nanjin Army turnovers. The winners were led by American forward Arinze Onuaku (206-87, college: Syracuse) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds (on 16-of-18 shooting from the field) and forward Liang Yu (209-86) supported him with 15 points. Even 26 points and 8 rebounds by forward Shengyue Sun (198-89) did not help to save the game for Nanjin Army. point guard Xiang Tianyu (185-92) added 22 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Five Chongqing FD and four Nanjin Army players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Chongqing FD maintains first position with 13-3 record. Nanjin Army lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 11 games lost. Chongqing FD will play against Guangxi R. (#5) on the road in the next round. Nanjin Army will play against the league's second-placed Jiangsu TX and hopes to get back on the winning track.
