Regular Season Round 1: Titanicos - Jefes 75-101

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Titanicos (0-1) at the home court on Thursday night. Hosts were rolled over by Jefes (1-0) 101-75. The game without a history. Jefes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Jefes looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Blake Walker (197-82, college: Portland St.) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 assists. Dominican power forward Manuel Guzman (204-82, college: Bemidji St.) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American center Aundra Williams (208, college: Marshall) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import guard Darren White (193-91, college: Campbell) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Titanicos. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Jefes is looking forward to face Abejas in Guanajuato in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Titanicos will play at home against Fuerza Regia and are hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
