Regular Season Round 1: Soles - Huracanes 69-63

Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Huracanes (0-1) and Soles (1-0), which took place in Mexicali. Huracanes lost to Soles in a road game 63-69 on Thursday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-14. But Huracanes won second period 22-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for guard Alexander Perez Kaufmann (191-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Zach Graham (198-89, college: Mississippi) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Soles players scored in double figures. Soles' coach Ivan Deniz used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Nigerian-American power forward Suleiman Suleiman (203-89, college: Rice, agency: Haylett Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks and American guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) added 17 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Huracanes. Soles will face Correcaminos in Ciudad Victoria in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Huracanes will play on the road against Fuerza Regia in Monterrey and hope to win that game.
