Regular Season Round 2: Pioneros - Barreteros 105-80

The game between Pioneros (2-0) and Barreteros (0-2) in Cancun ended with biggest points difference. Pioneros outscored guests from Zacatecas 105-80. The game without a history. Pioneros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Barreteros' 40 and made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Barreteros 49-23 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Power forward Jonathan Huffman (213-86, college: Iona) produced 23 points and Devon Pearson (198-84, college: SMU) added 13 points and 4 steals respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pioneros' next round opponent will be Halcones Rojos in Veracruz where they are favorite. Barreteros will play at home against Gansos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
