There was no surprise in Tampico where Titanicos (0-3) were defeated by Huracanes (2-2) 84-70 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 28-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Huracanes outrebounded Titanicos 44-32 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Nigerian-American power forward Suleiman Braimoh (203-89, college: Rice, agency: Haylett Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 8 rebounds. American swingman Cliff Tucker (198-89, college: Maryland) helped adding 22 points and 9 rebounds. Huracanes' coach Angel Gonzalez allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Isaiah Wilkerson (190-90, college: NJIT) with 21 points and 9 rebounds and Jamaican-American forward Noelly Walters (202-79, college: Morehouse) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Huracanes will again meet at home Titanicos (#13) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Titanicos will have a break next round.
