Rather expected game when KFUM Jamtland (0-2) was defeated at home by Sundsvall Dragons (1-0) 75-68. KFUM Jamtland was ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 22-10 charge of Sundsvall Dragons, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 21 KFUM Jamtland turnovers and outrebounded them 138-110 including a 53-41 advantage in offensive rebounds. Sundsvall Dragons players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 98 blocks. KFUM Jamtland was plagued by 38 personal fouls down the stretch. Icelandic forward Hlynur Baeringsson (200-82) notched a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds to lead the effort and American swingman Akeem Wright (200-84, college: Kansas St.) supported him with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Wright is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Sundsvall Dragons players scored in double figures. Even 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists by American guard Tyler Peters (196-91, college: Wheaton, IL, agency: Warren Sports International) did not help to save the game for KFUM Jamtland. Jesper Eliasson (202-94) added 14 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Sundsvall Dragons will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. KFUM Jamtland will play on the road against Solna Vikings and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
