Regular Season Round 2: Quimsa - Olimpico LB 90-80

Date: October 3, 2014
There was a minor upset in Santiado Estero where Olimpico de La Banda (1-1) was defeated by Quimsa (1-1) 90-80 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Quimsa. Olimpico de La Banda was better in third quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Quimsa made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Guard Nicolas Aguirre (188-88) scored 22 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals (perfect from downtown making all five shots) to lead the charge for the winners and American center Robert Battle (205-81, college: Drexel) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. American power forward Lee Roberts (201-87, college: Findlay, OH) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American-Puerto Rican guard Jesse Pellot-Rosa (193-84, college: VCU, agency: Paris Global Sports) scored 15 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Olimpico de La Banda's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Quimsa will face San Martin Corrientes on the road in the next round.
