Regular Season Round 2: St Chamond - Quimper 104-85

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Quimper UJAP (1-1) on the court of Saint Chamond on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Saint Chamond 104-85. The game was mostly controlled by Saint Chamond. Quimper UJAP managed to win fourth quarter 34-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Saint Chamond made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Naturalized DR Congolese guard Jean-Paul Landu-Bongo (185-85) scored 18 points to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Jean-Stephane Rinna (198-83) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Saint Chamond's coach Alain Thinet used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) responded with 21 points and 9 rebounds and Romain Gregoire (200-91) scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Saint Chamond is looking forward to face Mulhouse Basket on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Quimper UJAP will play against Vendee Challans and is hoping to win this game.
