Regular Season Round 2: Avignon-Sorgues - Mulhouse 84-66

Sorgues BC used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Mulhouse 84-66 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Sorgues BC. Mulhouse Basket managed to win fourth quarter 16-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Mulhouse Basket 37-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. Sorgues BC looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Mulhouse Basket's players. The best player for the winners was Canadian guard Warren Ward (196-89) who scored 19 points and 7 assists. Center Xavier Pasut (200-84) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four Sorgues BC players scored in double figures. Naturalized American forward Mario Porter (198-80, college: Rider) produced 14 points and American power forward Marcus Kitts (205-89, college: William & Mary) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sorgues BC will meet Saint Vallier on the road in the next round. Mulhouse Basket will play against Saint Chamond and hope to win that game.
