Regular Season Round 4: Panteras - Gansos 107-98

Panteras' fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Gansos (1-3) 107-98 on Saturday. Gansos trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 39-35 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 98-107 at the end of the game. Panteras shot 63.6 percent from the field and made 29-of-36 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. 31 personal fouls committed by Gansos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Puerto Rican point guard Ricardo Melendez (179-83) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American-Puerto Rican power forward Angelo Reyes (205-81) contributed with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. Four Panteras players scored in double figures. International Oscar Alejandro Perez Zarco (205-85) replied with 31 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and American guard Brandon Davis (193-88, college: LSU-Shreveport) added 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Gansos. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Panteras left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with Barreteros and Gansos. Panteras is looking forward to face Abejas (#13) in Guanajuato in the next round. Gansos will play at home against Halcones UV Xalapa and are hoping to win this game.
