We should mention about the upset which took place in Krakow, where Gdynia (0-1) was outleveled in a road game by Wisla Krakow (1-0) 96-37. The game without a history. Wisla Krakow led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Gdynia to just 7 points in first quarter. Wisla Krakow held Gdynia to an opponent 19.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 59.7 percent accuracy of the winners and made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Wisla Krakow outrebounded Gdynia 46-25 including a 35-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lithuanian center Gintare Petronyte (196-89) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (made all of her nine free throws !!!) for the winning side and Swedish Abdi Farhiya (188-92) accounted for 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Guard Anna Jakubiuk (180-94) came up with 9 points and Ukrainian forward Katerina Dorogobuzova (190-90) added 8 points respectively for Gdynia in the defeat. Wisla Krakow's next round opponent will be Widzew in Lodz which should be another easy win for them. Gdynia will play at home against Sleza Wroclaw and hope to win that game.
