Regular Season Round 2: Chalon - Chalons-Reims 89-84

Chalon/Saor used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Reims 89-84 on Saturday night. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 28-22. But Chalons-Reims won second period 25-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Chalon/Saor made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Lionel Chalmers (184-80, college: Xavier) responded with 14 points and 6 assists and center Darryl Watkins (211-84, college: Syracuse, agency: KMG Sports Management) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Chalon/Saor will face JL Bourg on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Chalons-Reims will play against Sluc Nancy and hope to win that game.
