There was a minor upset when Okinawa GK (1-1) lost to Hamamatsu Phoenix (1-1) in Mikawa 68-82 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Hamamatsu Phoenix. Okinawa GK was better in fourth quarter 32-29. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hamamatsu Phoenix made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. American forward Mo Charlo (203-83, college: Nevada) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). The other American import guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) contributed with 13 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) replied with 12 points and 7 rebounds and Trinidad and Tobago power forward Kibwe Trim (208-84, college: Sacred Heart) added 6 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Okinawa GK. Hamamatsu Phoenix will face Shimane Magic on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Okinawa GK will play against Takamatsu FA and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
