Regular Season Round 2: Niigata Albirex - Akita NH 86-80

First defeat of league's leader Akita Happinets (1-1) against Niigata Albirex (1-1) 86-80 was the most important game of the last round. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Akita Happinets won third quarter 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Akita Happinets 39-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Akita Happinets helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American center Patrick Sullivan (206-88, college: SE Louisiana, agency: Two Points) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Niigata Albirex and four Akita Happinets players scored in double figures. Akita Happinets will play next round against Sendai 89ers trying to make it back to the top of the standings.
