Spirou Charleroi (1-1) recorded a loss in Quaregnon. Visitors were defeated by Belfius Mons-Hainaut (1-1) 73-69. It looked good early as Spirou Charleroi took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Belfius Mons-Hainaut had a 23-17 second period charge getting the lead and Spirou Charleroi was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-73. American Austin Nichols (200-82, college: Humboldt St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import power forward Jason Love (206-87, college: Xavier) contributed with 20 points for the winners. American forward Dylan Page (204-82, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) replied with 21 points and Australian power forward Will Hudson (206-89, college: Oakland) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Spirou Charleroi. Four Spirou Charleroi players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Belfius Mons-Hainaut will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Spirou Charleroi will play at home against Kangoeroes to get more than just one victory in their record.
