Quite upsetting was Perth Wildcats' home defeat in a game versus New Zealand Breakers 80-70. The game was mostly controlled by New Zealand Breakers. Perth Wildcats managed to win third quarter 31-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Perth Wildcats 40-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. American guard Cedric Jackson (191-86, college: Cleveland St.) fired 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. The former international point guard Rhys Carter (190-84) chipped in 14 points and 7 assists. Four New Zealand Breakers players scored in double figures. American forward DeAndre Daniels (206-92, college: Connecticut) produced 19 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Shawn Redhage (203-81, college: Arizona St., agency: Warren Sports International) added 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. New Zealand Breakers will meet at home Adelaide 36ers in the next round. Perth Wildcats will play against Wollongong Hawks and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
