Regular Season Round 3: Limburg United - Aalstar 90-101

An interesting game for Okapi Aalstar (3-0) which played road game in Limburg against Limburg United (1-2). Okapi Aalstar managed to get a 11-point victory 101-90. The game was mostly controlled by Okapi Aalstar. Limburg United managed to win fourth quarter 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Okapi Aalstar shot 63.9 percent from the field. Strangely Limburg United outrebounded Okapi Aalstar 40-23 including a 19-3 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Rotnei Clarke (183-89, college: Butler) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 6 assists. Samoan-American power forward John Tofi (203-84, college: UTEP) accounted for 20 points for the winning side. Four Okapi Aalstar players scored in double figures. American Seamus Boxley (201-82, college: Portland St.) came up with 14 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import Scott Thomas (198-89, college: Bowling Green, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 18 points respectively for Limburg United in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Okapi Aalstar will meet at home Basic-Fit Brussels in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Limburg United will play against Kangoeroes in Willebroek and hope to win that game.
