Regular Season Round 2: Alvik Basket - Visby 87-58

Alvik Basket used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Visby 87-58 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Alvik Basket. Visby Ladies was better in fourth quarter 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Alvik Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Visby Ladies' 40. Alvik Basket forced 33 Visby Ladies turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Alvik Basket made 8 blocks. Forward Paula Juhlin (184-91) scored 20 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Diamber Johnson (170-90, college: Mississippi St.) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Alvik Basket players scored in double figures. Alvik Basket's coach Francisco Pinto felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Stephanie Rogers (190-89, college: Lake Erie) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and forward Marlene Wallin (175-81) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Alvik Basket will face Solna Vikings on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Visby Ladies will play against Akropol and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
