Regular Season Round 3: Nova Ves - Karlovka 83-69

Nova Ves used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Bratislava 83-69. The game was mostly controlled by Nova Ves. Karlovka was better in fourth quarter 23-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Nova Ves players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Stan Brown (203-90, college: Lamar) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Louis Craft (208-90, college: Fayetteville St.) accounted for 14 points, 13 rebounds and 6 blocks for the winning side. Brown is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Nova Ves players scored in double figures. point guard Robert Becarik (183-91) came up with 14 points and 6 assists and swingman Miroslav Zilik (197-89) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Karlovka in the defeat. Karlovka's coach Milan Cernicky let to play twelve players and allowed the starting five to rest. Nova Ves' next round opponent will be Rieker KN in Komarno and it will be for sure the game of the week. Karlovka will play at home against Prievidza (#3) and hope to win that game.
