Very important is a road loss of Polpharma (1-1) against AZS Polfarmex (1-1) on Saturday night. Visiting Polpharma was defeated by AZS Polfarmex in Kutno 80-62. The game was mostly controlled by AZS Polfarmex. Polpharma managed to win third quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AZS Polfarmex dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Polpharma's 24. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was point guard Kwamain Mitchell (178-89, college: St.Louis) who scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Kevin Johnson (201-84, college: Humboldt St., agency: Hart Sports Mngm) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 17 rebounds. Power forward Evan Ravenel (203-89, college: Ohio St.) produced 17 points and 5 rebounds and Tony Meier (204-90, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Polpharma's coach Tomasz Jankowski rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. AZS Polfarmex will meet PGE Turow in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Polpharma will play against Twarde Pierniki (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
