Regular Season Round 2: CCC Polkowice - Rybnik 76-47

No shocking result in a game when CCC Polkowice (2-0) crushed at home Rybnik (0-2) 76-47 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by CCC Polkowice. Rybnik managed to win fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Rybnik to just 2 points in second quarter. CCC Polkowice dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Rybnik's 26. They outrebounded Rybnik 52-22 including a 40-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Icelandic swingman Helena Sverrisdottir (185-88, college: TCU) notched 22 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and international point guard Dominika Owczarzak (168-94) supported her with 15 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals. CCC Polkowice's coach Arkadiusz Rusin felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 15 points and 5 steals by American center Drey Mingo (191-89, college: Purdue, agency: LBM Management) did not help to save the game for Rybnik. Her fellow American import guard Angelica Henry (165, college: Co.Carolina) added 11 points for the guests. CCC Polkowice will meet AZS UMCS in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rybnik will play against Gdynia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
