Regular Season Round 3: Pays d'Aix - Avenir 71-52

There was no surprise in Les Milles where Avenir (1-2) was crushed by Pays d'Aix (3-0) 71-52. The game without a history. Pays d'Aix led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Pays d'Aix forced 19 Avenir turnovers and outrebounded them 44-24 including a 33-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Emilie Silbande (178-81) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. American power forward Shante Evans (184-91, college: Hofstra) accounted for 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Four Pays d'Aix players scored in double figures. Pays d'Aix's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Swanne Gauthier (171-86) came up with 14 points and 4 steals and Julia Borde (184-92) added 10 points respectively for Avenir in the defeat. Pays d'Aix's next round opponent will be Charnay (#12) in Charnay-les-Macon which should be an easy win for them. Avenir will play at home against CFBB (#11) and hope to win that game.
