Regular Season Round 4: Vichy - Quimper 80-70

Date: October 11, 2014
The game in Vichy was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Quimper UJAP (2-2) played at the court of fifth ranked JA Vichy (3-1). JA Vichy defeated Quimper UJAP 80-70 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by JA Vichy. Quimper UJAP was better in third quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JA Vichy forced 24 Quimper UJAP turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American swingman Jason Williams (198-83, college: UTEP) fired 21 points and 4 assists for the winners. Mourad El-Khir (202-88) chipped in 15 points and 4 steals. American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and Romain Gregoire (200-91) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four JA Vichy and five Quimper UJAP players scored in double figures. JA Vichy moved-up to third place, which they share with Challans. Loser Quimper UJAP dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. JA Vichy will face bottom-ranked Mulhouse Basket (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Quimper UJAP will play against Rueil (#12) and hope to win that game.
