The most surprising game was a loss of Napoli (1-1) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Cagliari CUS (1-1) 63-55. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-10. But Napoli won second period 16-8. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Cagliari CUS won last quarter 18-12. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Napoli turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by Napoli helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Asia Taylor (185-91, college: Louisville, agency: LBM Management) had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Tricia Liston (185-92, college: Duke) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Cagliari CUS players scored in double figures. The former international guard Chiara Pastore (171-86) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and American center Victoria Macaulay (193-90, college: Temple, agency: Two Points) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Cagliari CUS is looking forward to face La Spezia at home in the next round. Napoli will play against San Martino in San Martino di L and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
