Regular Season Round 3: Baerum Basket - Asker Aliens 77-91

Baerum Basket (1-1) recorded a loss in Bekkestua. Hosts were defeated by Asker Aliens (2-0) 91-77. It looked good early as Baerum Basket took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Asker Aliens had a 22-16 second period charge getting the lead and Baerum Basket was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 77-91. They outrebounded Baerum Basket 43-32 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Asker Aliens players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for guard Anders Stien (195-90) who led the winners and scored 39 points (!!!). DR Congolese power forward Djo Yele (203-82) accounted for 20 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Asker Aliens' coach Rob Knight allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. point guard Stian Mjos (183-89) came up with 22 points and 8 assists and American forward Flavien Davis (196-92, college: Montana St.) added 20 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Baerum Basket in the defeat. Five Baerum Basket players scored in double figures. Asker Aliens will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Baerum Basket will play on the road against Nidaros Jets in Tromdheim and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
