Regular Season Round 4: Yokohama BC - Shinshu BW 95-71

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Shinshu BW (1-1) on the court of tenth ranked Yokohama BC on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by Yokohama BC 95-71. The game without a history. Yokohama BC led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Shinshu BW's 30 and made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Shinshu BW 48-34 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Yokohama BC looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Warren Niles (196-89, college: ORU, agency: KMG Sports Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) who added 19 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Five Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Patrick Sanders (198-85, college: Cal-Irvine) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and forward Shoji Nakanishi (190-82) scored 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Yokohama BC (2-2) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Shinshu BW at the other side dropped to the ninth position with one game lost. Yokohama BC is looking forward to face league's leader Aomori Watts on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Shinshu BW will play against Tokyo Cinq R. (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
