Regular Season Round 4: Gunma - Shiga L-Stars 72-83
Date: October 12, 2014
Not a big story in a game when Gunma (0-2) was defeated at home by top-ranked Shiga L-Stars (4-0) 83-72 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Shiga L-Stars. Gunma was better in third quarter 24-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Yu Okada (184-83) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia, agency: Haylett Sports) who added 24 points during the contest. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Shiga L-Stars' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American forward Carlos Dixon (201-81, college: Virginia Tech) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Kenya Tomori (177-84) scored 7 points and 9 assists. Shiga L-Stars have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Kyoto Hannar. Loser Gunma still closes the standings with two games lost. Shiga L-Stars will face Osaka Evessa (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gunma will play against the league's second-placed Iwate Big Bulls and hopes to get finally their first victory.
