Regular Season Round 6: Jefes - Huracanes 77-105

Date: October 12, 2014
An interesting game where Huracanes (#6) crushed host Jefes (#7) with 28-point difference 105-77 on Sunday evening. The game without a history. Huracanes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 60.7 percent from the field and made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. Nigerian-American power forward Suleiman Braimoh (203-89, college: Rice, agency: Haylett Sports) scored 26 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) chipped in 25 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American swingman Blake Walker (197-82, college: Portland St.) with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Dominican power forward Manuel Guzman (204-82, college: Bemidji St.) scored 18 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Huracanes have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Pioneros and Halc.Xalapa. Newly promoted Jefes keep the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Correcaminos. Huracanes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Jefes will play against Barreteros (#13) in Zacatecas and hope to secure a win.
