Regular Season Round 2: Scafati - Legnano 80-78

Date: October 12, 2014
A very interesting game took place in Scafati. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of Legnano (1-1) to Scafati (1-1) 80-78 in the game for the fourth place. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Scafati shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American guard Reggie Hamilton (182-89, college: Oakland, agency: Interperformances) notched 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and the former international swingman Andrea Ghiacci (200-81) supported him with 20 points and 4 assists. Four Scafati players scored in double figures. Scafati's coach Francesco Ponticiello allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds by American-Gambian forward Ousman Krubally (201-88, college: Georgia St.) did not help to save the game for Legnano. The former international point guard Fabio Di Bella (187-78) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the guests. Scafati's next round opponent will be Treviso Basket on the road and it may be the game of the week. Legnano will play against Ravenna and hope to win that game.
