Hitachi Sunrockers defeated Chiba Jets in Tokyo 79-68. The game was mostly controlled by Hitachi Sunrockers. Chiba Jets managed to win third quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American power forward Joshua Heytvelt (210-86, college: Gonzaga) who scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. The former international guard Kenta Hirose (193-85) chipped in 24 points. Hitachi Sunrockers' coach Michael Olson used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) produced 22 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Chiba Jets will play next round against Tsukuba R. trying to get back on the winning streak. Hitachi Sunrockers will try to continue on its current victory against Tochigi Brex on the road.
