A very interesting game took place in Capo d'Orlando. It ended with only three-point home defeat of Upea CdO (0-1) to Tuscany Pistoia (1-0) 74-71 on Sunday evening. It looked good early as Upea CdO took an 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Tuscany Pistoia took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 3 points. They made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. Power forward Linton Johnson (203-80, college: Tulane) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and guard C.J. Williams (196-90, college: N.Carolina St.) accounted for 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Tuscany Pistoia players scored in double figures. Forward Dominique Archie (200-87, college: S.Carolina) came up with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Dario Hunt (206-89, college: Nevada) added 9 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Upea CdO in the defeat. Upea CdO's coach Giulio Griccioli rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Tuscany Pistoia's next round opponent will be Banco di Srd in Sassari and it will be for sure the game of the week.
