Regular Season Round 4: Iwate Big Bulls - Fukushima 69-59

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Iwate Big Bulls (3-1) won against at home 9th ranked Fukushima (1-3) 69-59 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Lawrence Blackledge (206-86, college: Marquette) who added 16 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Worth to mention Blackledge played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Iwate Big Bulls' coach Dai Oketani used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American forward Terrance Shannon (203-90, college: VCU) responded with 9 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Atsushi Nogami (184-86) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Iwate Big Bulls keep a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams. Newly promoted Fukushima dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. Iwate Big Bulls will face Gunma (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fukushima will play against Akita Happinets (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
