We should not miss anothera road victory of Gernika (1-0) who crushed Gipuzkoa UPV (0-1) by 22 points 65-43. The game without a history. Gernika led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Gipuzkoa UPV's 26. American Bernice Mosby (186-84, college: Baylor) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Her fellow American import center Britany Miller (193-87, college: Florida St.) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. point guard Maria Gomez (170-82) produced 9 points and 4 assists and center Miriam Foraste (190-91, agency: Regeneracom Sports) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gernika's next round opponent will be Zamora at home which should be theoretically another easy game. Gipuzkoa UPV will play against Conquero in Huelva and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
