Regular Season Round 2: Northland - Sallen 104-102 2OT

Date: October 15, 2014
Northland edged Sallen in Lulea 104-102 in double-overtime. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-18. But Sallen won second period 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Sallen used huge pressure winning it 22-16 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually double-overtime period 11-11. Northland made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Sallen turnovers. 28 personal fouls committed by Sallen helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Canadian point guard Miah-Marie Langlois (173-91) scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Katie Bussey (175-90, college: Montana St., agency: LBM Management) chipped in 23 points during the contest. Serbian Dajana Butulija (176-86, agency: Interperformances) responded with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds and the former international Kadidja Andersson (183-80, college: Minnesota) scored 23 points and 8 rebounds. Five Northland and four Sallen players scored in double figures. Sallen's coach Bo Eriksson rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
