Regular Season Round 7: Gigantes - Gansos 82-75

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Gansos (2-4) lost to eleventh ranked Gigantes (3-4) in Toluca 75-82 on Thursday. Gansos were trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 25-16 charge of Gigantes, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 20 Gansos turnovers. Gansos were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for the former international guard Carlos Toussaint (190-91) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 4 assists. American power forward Sean Carter (205-88, college: Massachusetts) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American swingman Brandon Davis (198-88, college: Lamar, agency: Elite Talent Exchange) answered with 17 points and Christopher Duran added 10 points, 6 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Gansos. Four Gigantes and five Gansos players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gigantes moved-up to ninth place. Loser Gansos dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Gigantes will face league's second-placed Soles in Mexicali in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gansos will play on the road against Pioneros in Cancun and hope to win that game.
