Regular Season Round 2: IR - KR 86-93

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Reykjavik: KR and IR. IR was defeated at home 86-93 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The guests were ahead by 2 points but lost the second period ending it with a 3-point deficit before their 27-17 run, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds. The former international Helgi Magnusson (197-82, college: Catawba) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four KR players scored in double figures. point guard Matthias Sigurdarson (185-94, college: Flagler) replied with 29 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and American forward Christopher Gardingo (200-89, college: Co.Carolina) added 18 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for IR. KR's next round opponent will be Tindastoll in Sauoarkrokur. IR will play on the road against Njardvik in Njardvik and hope to win that game.
