Very predictable result when Novipiu Casale (3-0) defeated at home Fileni BPA Jesi (0-3) 65-58. It looked good early as Fileni BPA Jesi took an 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Novipiu Casale had a 22-10 second period charge getting the lead and Fileni BPA Jesi was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 58-65. They outrebounded Fileni BPA Jesi 44-28 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American guard Jermaine Marshall (193-90, college: Arizona St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. point guard Giovanni Tomassini (188-88) contributed with 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. The former international center Michele Maggioli (212-77) answered with 9 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Ian Miller (190-91, college: Florida St., agency: Two Points) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Fileni BPA Jesi. Novipiu Casale's next round opponent will be Agrigento at home which should be theoretically an easy game. Fileni BPA Jesi will play against Casalpusterlengo and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
