The game in Reykjavik supposed to be also quite interesting. Thor AK (0-2) played at the court of Valur (1-1). Valur smashed Thor AK 86-49 on Friday. The game without a history. Valur led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 23 Thor AK turnovers and outrebounded them 54-38 including 19 on the offensive glass. Valur looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Thor AK's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Valur made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was center Thorgrimur Bjornsson (198-91) who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Benedikt Blondal (188-93) chipped in 14 points and 9 assists. Four Valur players scored in double figures. point guard Einar Eyjolfsson (178-94) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Vic Ian Damasin (179-92) added 17 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Valur will meet at home Hottur in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Thor AK will play against IA in Akranes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
