Regular Season Round 3: Bergen - Gimle 42-52

Date: October 17, 2014
Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Bergen: Gimle and Bergen. Bergen was defeated at home 42-52 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by Gimle. Bergen managed to win second period 14-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Bergen to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Gimle forced 26 Bergen turnovers and outrebounded them 48-37 including a 27-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for guard Josefin Winther (180-86) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 25 rebounds. Guard Ingrid Gjerdevik (169-92) helped adding 17 points. The best for the losing side was guard Kristin Hannestad (175-97) with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and guard Nini Skjulhaug (170-96) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Gimle will meet at home BC Asker in the next round. Bergen will play against BC Asker and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
